Whats the point of such a fancy monitor?

I have been looking at refurbished monitors and I came across one that goes for as high as $9,000 dollars. I found it for $3600 but I can't figure out what someone does with such an expensive monitor. How would a monitor like this benefit me? Here is the link:

1) it's very big

You'll find that many large displays are plasma. LCD seems to get more expensive *faster* than plasma as screen size increases.

The same site has plasma monitors and you can see the price comparison.

If you look at the LCD monitors the price is roughly proportional to size. The one you quote is a bit more expensive than others of that size, but you can easily find 3:1 price variations in any monitor size (albeit, new) so I'm not surprised at the price.
