What is the series-parallel configuration ?

Hello all.
Three backlight strips from inside an Emerson-Funai TV model LF501EM5F (50") Wired by three pairs of connections to its supply board. How to find out the supply; or the series parallel configuration of the emitters ?)
Strips are 23 emitters each, but cannot see its series/parallel layout nor have access to measure supply. Want to make a supply for them.

They are usually 3 or 6 volts.
Honestly, I'd just get some D cell batteries in series, and see what lights them up.
