Weird colors: I've a '93 SONY Trinitron Multiscan 20se monitor. Whites are all pinkish, yellows are

Text is sharp as new. Details are sharp as new. Screen geometry is
still good as new.

Reds - best I can get are funny gold/copper shades.
Greens - leans towards bluish
Yellows - more like goldish
Blues - close but on the turquoise side
Whites - always a pinkish purpleish

It got like this over a couple of weeks. It would start out weird like
now and then after a few minutes all would be perfect color again. Then
as time went on it just took longer and longer to return to normal
colors. Now - it just stays weird.

So I guess what I'm asking is, does anyone have an idea of what's going
on with it, and, what am I looking at ($) to lug it down to get it
fixed?

I'd surely appreciate any thoughts and maybe some advice on this. I
already owe my soul to MasterCard and I'd hate to have to give up my
first born tooŠ ;-)

Thank you,
mikey

Maybe the degaussing coil is stuck on? Hard to say though, sounds like it'd
be worth having it looked at.

Lots of Panasonics and Sonys have a problem with the dagauss thermistor and
associated relay. Possible that you are experiencing that problem, or the
crt is getting weak and the AKB can no longer compensate.

Thank you James and Art,
I will lug it Monday morning to a shop and have it looked at by an
expert.
I'd hate to give it up. Sony's just seem to keep going and going.
So again - Thank you lots. :)
