Washing machine motor

I have an old Hotpoint washing machine motor which I want to use the power small lathe I am making.

Does anyone know how to wire up the motor? It has a 6 way plug which was connected to the washing machine PC control board. I simply need to motor to run at full speed in either direction.

It depends on the specific type of motor. Here are some wiring diagrams.
With six wires, it seems likely that
2 wires are for a tacho signal - you will not need this for full speed operation
2 wires are for field
2 wires are fro the armature.

Here (scroll down) is a picture for the wiring of field and armature that may be representative. In any case, check with the specific model of motor you have at hand.

Note that you are going to work with dangerously (possibly lethally) high voltages and currents. Get expert assistance!
