Wanted Exterior Floodlight Day\Night switch

R

Rod Out back

All,

Looking for ether a domestic exterior floodlight that has a night\day switch
in it, or simply the day\night switch on its own. I would prefer something
capable of switching about 500w at 240V (max).

At present, the closest I have found is a fitting to insert into a bayonet
light socket that has a day\night sensor in it. The globe then fits into
the new fitting. Unfortunately, max load is about 60w. I would prefer
something that is hard wired in, and can switch a more substantial load than
60w.

I had a bit of a look last night, but havent found such a beast on an
Australian suppliers site so far. I did find a US one, but it was 120v
only.

Anyone seen such a beast, and where I might source some?

Cheers,

Not sure about the 500W version.
There are cheap outside floodlights for the $10-$20 dollar range with IR
sensor. Comes on when an IR source enters field.

Cheap is the word. My electrician insisted on mounting them under the
eaves for weather protection. The main one, which I think is 500W has
already gone through 5 globes. No cover glass and the insect hits them
(well, that is what I thought). Then I worked out that it has an
intermittent earth leakage problem {:).

Sorry, there are the urban cheap lighting shops.

Thanks Eddie; I finally tracked down the HPM and the Clipsal product numbers
last night, but hadnt found a price yet. I should have been searching for
Dusk - Dawn switches, when I was looking for Daylight or Sunset switches.

Thanks for replying.
