Hi,
I have an old Acoustic Control bass guitar amp from back in the early
70's. Model 150 combo. It is complete (cabinet, speaker, head unit,
circuit boards), except for a few missing transistors, and I also have
the complete schematics from Harvey Gerst, who designed it back when
he worked for Acoustic Control.
The tracks are lifting on the circuit boards, but they are very
simple, and would be easy enough to replace for someone with the time.
I bought it several years ago, and used another head unit sitting on
top of the amp, bypassing the Acoustic head unit, for a while.
Eventually I tracked down the schematics and prepared to restore it,
but have run out of time and motivation.
However, rather than just dump it or ebay it, I'd like to find someone
who will take it for a small token amount (to avoid people grabbing it
as a "freebie") and restore it. They were such a great amp in their
day, I'd hate to see it go to waste.
I live in Brisbane, Australia. Does anyone belong to (or know of) a
local club or group who I could approach with this? Is anyone reading
this interested themselves? Is there a more appropriate newsgroup?
Advice either to this newsgroup or to my email much appreciated.
Cheers,
Jason.
