Wanted: A 68HC11xx or Uni Programmer

N

Neil Fisk

Hello Everyone

I've searched the net and looked at Needham's Uni Programmers, but to my
surprise there out of my budget, but I think there top notch, but I can't
afford the model that will perform programming the 68HC11.[ EMP-31]

While I mention this chip, that's what I really to program now, even though
you can program well over 6000 others with it from various companies from
around the globe.

Does any one know or heard of a Universal programmer that can do the
job(HC11 compatiable) for under $400(U.S). I understand the 52 pin PLCC ZIF
adapter is also rather expensive too, but I may be able to work around that
myself.

Any help would be great..........
thanks

Neil

Hi Neil,

I am sorry to say, this is the reason the newer CPUs are taking over
from Motorola HC11. Motorola has not gone to flash parts with the HC11
family. I would guess its too late to get a newer chip into your design.

$400 is cheap for a programmer at least it won't be single use.

PS: I am currently working on a legacy design that has an HC11A1 and a
27256 EPROM. I got out my old eprom tools ( emulator and programmer ),
thinking the vendor I purchased them from would have WIN98 / XP versions
of their software by now. No such luck, only the original DOS tools were
available from their web site.

But their new programmers and emulators has new software. But at a
price. ( FWIW: www.eetools.com )

Good Luck.
