I guess that's what happens when you confront a liar with the truth, they
shut up and go away.
Notice he/she responded to my first post in a couple hours, and then replied
again to a subsequent very quickly as well.
When you (and I) pointed out the untruths in his/her statements, suddenly
they stopped replying.
what a coward liar. I guess they're too busy getting their talking points
from Rush Limbaugh to care about the truth, or to respond to our points.
I don't understand the motivation behind these types of political
attacks; it's a sad state of affairs, to say the least. And even if
Al Gore were to offset all or a portion of his carbon emissions
through a related company, what's the big deal?
Consider that:
1) he's made a commitment that his professional and private life
(and that of his family) will be 100% carbon neutral;
2) he's paying for this out of his own pocket and by his own
volition;
3) the money would be invested in renewable energy sources,
energy efficiency improvements and various other initiatives
that would lower GHG emissions by said amount; and,
4) these investments will result in quantifiable and verifiable
reductions in carbon emissions above and beyond what would
be achieved otherwise, and all transactions will be conducted
in a legitimate and transparent manner.
Contrary to what others may have you believe, Al Gore walks the talk.
How many elected representatives and political commentators have made
such commitments and actually carried through with them? And instead
of being applauded for his good deeds, he's subjected to public
humiliation and ridicule. This Canadian shakes his head.
