i have arca old vcr and when i play the cassette i have line on it
i try a different cassette and its the same
what it can be alignment ???

The head is probably due for a clean.
Clean it first with IPA and a cotton bud then see how it plays.
Also, might be useful to take a picture of the screen as different faults cause various picture problems.

yup as Martain said earlier

IPA = Isopropyl Alcohol

just brought a second hand vhs for 25 $ some tapes are having lines too is its because of the ages of the tapes or again the device ?

Hello,

It depends a bit on wich system the VCR is based.
On a video2000 system (mainly philips made), I would not try it as the heads are mounted on a piezo arm, to be able to make corrections.

This is 2021, not 1981. A VCR is an antique, A PVR with a solid state memory is used now.
