I am not disagreeing but if you want really professional s***e you must use
Cadstar as the yardstick.
What do you recommend for general use?
To be honest I've little use for a PCB prog'. The paying stuff I do gets
subbed out to a veritable artist who (believe it or not!) uses that Zuken
Cadstar. He's been at it for 30 years so the result is high quality despite
the progs he's using.
The stuff I do myself is trivial bits and bobs like prototype adapter PCBs
to get SM stuff into DIL sockets etc . I use an early, version3 'EasyPC'
prog which is just about useable for drawing diagrams and is able to
manually lay down tracks without too much trouble. I loathe and detest the
programme but less so than all the others I've tried (and try)

. The
EasyPc people have since had many years to hopefully develop the product, so
it would be my first port-of-call if I needed to get serious.
