Tracing traces on PCB

Hello,

Is it safe to use Multimeter around MCU's ?

What I'm planning to do is put one probe on MCU leg and another probe somwhere on the board trying to find some good soldering point...

Is this safe to use ?
Will not affect memory stored in MCU ?

If you observe normal anti-static precautions, you should have few problems.

Many meters will allow a smaller current to flow on higher resistance ranges, and this will assist (i.e. it will cause less stress) if you start turning on protection diodes.
