Total Newbie.

I have recently decided to take up a hobby. I have always been interested in electronics. I am an IT manager by trade and I was an Electrician in my younger days.

I have an Idea for a gift for am friend of my daughter but I have no Idea where to start.

I have a bunch of EL wire and a boat load Of LED ( All Colors). I would like to us the EL wire or LEDs to enhance a jewelry box I made her. I would like the lights to go to the beat of Rock o by baby.

Like I said No clue on how to do this and hoping someone could put me on the path.

Also If anyone know of any good site or books they care to recommend I would be very grateful

EL wire requires high voltages and you don't want them to bite someone
