Toshiba satellite laptop problems

Hey all..hope all is well.

Ive got a problem with a toshiba laptop.
Problem is that it wont turn on if ac adaptor is connected. Thr lights do turn on though and it charges.

It does turn on sometimes only on battery.
When it does turn on it makes a sqeauling noise on the motherboard..sounds near the cpu or northbridge.

When i does turn on it turns off when booting windows.

What component could be the issue?

could be hard disk failure because of bad sector on it

Its not a hard disk issue as it switches off even without hdd attached.

Its not overheating as well as ive removed motherboard and cleaned cpu heatsink and fan and put on new thermal paste

Battery not charging even though the task bar indicator might say it is.

Battery does charge...the laptop only runs iff battery..when charger attached it switches on but has no display...when running off battery it runs fine

try to dispatch battery and run the laptop of the dc oly

I had a satellite that did this, and I found a bad wire in the Power supply cord. Still works fine today.
