Thin Client Computer

I wish to design and prototype a thin client computer with minimum computing, AI receptive, capable to get trained to decode data from the host, cheap (no raspberry pi). Any idea?

What's that supposed to mean - "minimum computing"?
Any ideas what kind of operating system youre going to use?
How much memory?
Headless or do you need to be able to attach keyboard, mouse and monitor?
Have you had a look at Raspberry Pi alternatives, at NUCs, ...?
