....both with tuner probs.
The first, Model # RR13Y06401 -- Chassis # 13YY01-00AA (man. date: 1992)
has an absolutely beautiful picture...works fine in fact EXCEPT on odd
occasions, the audio jumps up one or two channels for half a second or so.
Then it's fine until it does it again. When that happens, the video appears
to be mistuned (noisy, unrecognizable, out of sync picture).... Is there an
external (to the tuner) stepped voltage source which could be at fault here,
or would it be the tuner itself? Any chances of fixing?
The other, Model RJ5540AK07 -- Chassis # 2761-01 (really old; assembled in
Cookeville, TN--just a few miles up the road--in 1988)
has an 'ok' picture, but the tuner just 'skips' cable channels 26 - 54.
When one of the offending channels is selected, a mistuned version of
channel 24 appears ('buzzy' audio, unclear picture). All the consumer menu
settings are correctly selected.
