Taking Apart TV Remotes

Have taken apart TV remotes that have had various liquids spilled on
them and so far have been able to clean them up and make them usable.

Have a Daewoo Tv remote that needs disassembly but have been unable to
find any screws holding it together. Have done some searching and
found a number of postings saying that the new remotes are only held
together by plastic interlocks. Have tried to seperate along the seam
but have had no success so far.

Appreciate any tips.

Thanks

Some good comments from other readers already. I always
take the batteries out and have a good look around the
inside edge to get a clue as to how the remote may be
constructed. I've found credit cards or thin plastic
shims made from blister packaging to be helpful to slide
along remote control seams.

If however it is glued, well what a pain!

Sometimes just dropping them on hard floor makes them come perfectly apart,
sometimes even without any damage, :)

OTOH, often that's exactly *why* they need to come apart for repair....<g>
