Switch 24Vdc signal using opto transistor

I am trying to switch 24Vdc signal when the opto transistor receives 5Vdc signal on the LED. Do you think that this is a good setup? On the datasheet the collector-emitter is 70Vdc maximum. Do i need to add an additional resistor on the collector side?

Put the resistor in the collector circuit and ground the emitter. Take the signal out from the collector.

Where you take the signal from depends on what logic you want to detect, either is acceptable.
Positive logic or Negative logic.
