Static Transfer Switch preinstalled in UPS?

Hello,

Does a static transfer switch (STS) needs separate installation? Or does that come integrated in some sort of equipment?

That's what the 'U' in UPS means - uninterruptible.....

Check the device specification for switching times and pick the lowest!

Electrically, this is called a make-before-break function but requires synchronisation of the two sources but, for most applications, this wouldn't be an issue.
