Static noise iPhone

Ok,
I have been using pandora on my iPhone and using an aux cord( 3.5 mm cord to RCA). I wasn't satisfied with quality so I bought the aux cord (30 pin(charging spot) to RCA) and now I get static. My question is if my stereo is from 93 can my RCA jacks not handle the 30 pin input or bad ground? I have used the cord at my surround system and the music is great.

1) you might have a bad aux cord cable.
2) you might be getting induced signals from nearby electronics.
a) flourescent lamps nearby?
b) some motorized device that causes electrical noise
3) whenever I use any cable into my amplifier, I always make SURE it's not close to
any other power cords that might induce stray voltages.
4) frankly. my first assumption would be that your new aux cord is a manufacturing defect.
You wanted 'any' help. That's my 2 cents worth with the info you provided.
