What device would you use to make sound waves travel through brick walls or long distances?

I am trying to locate the best option.

Subwoofer? - low frequencies tend to propagate better through solid objects
Wired speakers , BLE/Wifi speakers? - Send the audio through as something else, then make the sound on the other side?

Poking around in the dark like my fellows, lacking more detailed information: Use a surface transducer to couple sound directly into the wall.
