Sony KV32V15

Alex

Hi,

I have a Sony model KV32V15, chassis # CSS-F85N-A.
When you turn the set on it takes about 30 seconds for them picture to
appear. Once the picture does appear, it flashes on and off at about
10 second intervals. The longer the set is on the longer the interval
until the picture flashes off again.

I know this is a capacitor somewhere, but where. HV and audio are
unaffected.

Has anyone got any help for me?

cheers
Alex

This symptom is most commonly from the CRT starting to fail. To verify this,
the power supply, AKG circuits, and horizontal output stages should be
properly verified. It is possible that there are bad caps, but there are
many that can cause the set's CRT bias to null the performance of the CRT.

Hi Jerry,

Many thanks, I have a feeling you are correct. When you can view the
picture for any length of time it looks pretty bad, and the client
indicates that the problem started intermittently and got
progressively worse.
