Sony car head unit

I have a sony head unit that has lost the middle section of the FM radio
band. I can tune up to about 94.5 and then pick back up about 105.2. In
that middle section I can tune in a station but it is from higher up. For
example if I tune the radio to 95.6 I get the radio station 106.9. Is there
anything I can do for it?

I fixed an aircraft radio with chanelling problems like that . It was a bad
chip .

It sounds like the PLL chip, or something with the controller may be
defective. The local oscillator, and varactor tuning is probably working
okay, because you can get the highest and lowest stations.
