Hey everyone - I have a problem that's so simple with my little TV it's
aggravating me to no end!
Somewhere along the line I lost the remote to this TV (a Sharp 13H-M60) -
maybe the couch ate it; who knows? Anyway that's not a big deal - a
3rd-party universal remote has suited me fine for some time now. The
problem is I've always lived in a place with cable, but now I don't, and the
tuner is stuck in cable mode so I can't get any UHF stations.
Of course everything on my universal remote works EXCEPT the menu button!
Looking online a new OEM remote is around $30 - more than it's worth for me
to get crappy UHF channels on a 13" TV. I'd imagine that there's a jumper
in the box to reset the ROMs back to factory settings, or maybe even pop up
a service menu that would let me reset it from there.
I've opened the case and there are two white connectors on the main board
with the pins facing outward from the rear of the unit (the same orientation
as the antenna connector - one is a 3 pin connector, the other is a 4 pin
connector. These are designated P951 and P2101, respectively. These may be
jumpers, but without a service manual I'm not going to start shorting out
pins just to get UHF. But if there's someone out there who has a service
manual for this beast, I'd appreciate it if you could point me in the right
direction...if there is one.
Many thanks,
