Ford => Yuck!!! I'll take my '68 Skylark any day. 455 cid. 4" header
dump that's activated by pulling out the ash-tray... "sweet" ride. Sucks
gas by the barrel though... I call her my "Camaro Killer". She was the
family car until I bought her off my Mom. Had a 350 long block in her and a
two speed slush box. Nice car to work on. Absolutely *no* anti-pollution
garbage anywhere. And no "dang" computer controlling dwell, spark, timing,
etc. :))

You got a Buick? <snicker>

My old 66 Ford Falcon straight six convertable was cool too...I could get
that baby up to 85 or so with a tail wind. I was really fun to get it up to
40 or so then throw it into reverse just before I'd pull into our
driveway...just to hear dad curse from inside the house :)

Ahhhhh teenagers!

Nothing beats a well tuned Chevette

Don't it make ya wish you coulda hung on to her, though?? Them cars from
the 60's sure do rock... I know a couple of guys with '64.5 Mustangs (one's
a customer of ours). Real "cherries". What year's your 'Stang??

Ahh how time makes the heart grow fonder, people forget about the rust-prone
bodies, the crappy suspension, points and condensors...motors that lasted
maybe 100,000 miles before throwing a timing belt.....gas mileage in the
10's...lousy air conditioning if it worked at all...

Yea them were the days

Thats nothing, my first Chevette was a 77 model, had I think a 1.2 Liter
engine that could barely break 70 and if you wanted to pass you had some
planning to do. It DID however pull a bass boat out of the lake once, made
some nice plumes of blue smoke doing it.

But, it did save the boat .....right?

Yea in fact it towed the boat the 100 miles to and from the lake, didn't
seem to hurt anything

I would have used the boat to tow the chevette into the lake

It almost did, I had to have the drivers side door open and someone holding
the clutch because if I had let my foot off the brake it would slid into the
water.

It was an interesting day
