Samsung SF5100 Laser Fax

This machine got caught up in a major leak during a storm! Stripping it
revealed water damage on the main processor (PTL) board. I thoroughly
cleaned it (dont ask how) and replaced one capacitor which had a badly
corroded + leg. The machine now initialises, asks for date / time etc but
reports DOOR OPEN. I've checked the microswitch for correct operation but
still cannot get the DOOR OPEN fixed.

Any ideas where to look or, alternatively, the name of a supplier for this
board in the UK.

All / Help comments gratefully received.

TIA.

I'm not familiar with this Samsung unit, but just wanted to suggest you make
sure that all of the connectors to the main board are clean and tight and
that you got them al back in the right places.

The error code is indicative of an open circuit. Since you checked the
microswitch and it was OK, the next step is to trace the wiring back to find
the open. The usual culprit is a connector or (heaven forbid) improper
re-assembly!

Good luck.

Bob - appreciate the comments! All the connectors are keyed and I have
checked and double checked them all. Not knowing how the machine 'reads' the
cover switch makes it difficult to work out where the problem is - I have
traced the cct back as far as I can but my eyes get lost in the micro
engineering going on these days.

As I am no expert (is it that obvious?) a replacement board would be ideal
but sourcing one is being quite a challenge.

Anyways, appreciate you taking time to respond
