Running Phone Lines 50 feet Need Advice

Hi everyone!

We just moved into an office that has two phone lines installed at a phone jack 50 feet away from where we need it. I hate the idea of running two separate 50' cables from the jack to the receptionist station and wondered if there was an easier solution? What about interference going that distance? Or interference by running two phone lines side by side? Both phone lines will be used for voice (no data). Any help you can give is appreciated! Thanks, Kara

There is no mystery on extending telephone wires for just 50 feet. They may already be coming from a telco substation for about half a mile.
A single Category 1 to Category 5 cable leftovers will provide the needed conductor pairs for both lines.
