Realistic STA-2270 receiver (Radio Shack)

Newbie here..

I have a Realistic STA-2270 receiver that has a bad volume control Pot. Anyone know of an OEM or equivalent Pot that will fit into my 2270? Source?

Post clear pics of the part. We often get such requests for parts id-ing but have more experience for image comparisons than access to BOMs that manufacturers might (not) make available.

surfed around and just happened to see the livin inards of one on a Canadian swap shop site.
fear not ... by the looks of the backside of the part, this may actually be a home gamers job.

I can remember when this was probably the model you settled for in this era of 100 watts or nothing. but then, today, 65 watts worth of discrete component power has become kinda special

Ill leave this here for some mid 80's audio porn

that has a bad volume control Pot.
You can easily find potentiometers of various sizes and values on one of the many retailer's sites.
Note that volume control pots usually have a logarithmic characteristic and in your case the pot should be stereo, too.

Why do you think you need to replace the pot? Have you tried repairing the pot? Not a job for the faint of heart but manageable. See.g. these sites:
Mechanically
Using special cleaner
Miscellaneous tips from another forum.

Good luck,
Harald

I probably have one you can have for free. Probably around 5 bucks to ship it. Could work something out for that. Let me know.

I've parted out a few of these machines or related, 2280, 2600, 2500. Anyway I know what your looking for. It has a shaft that real long, 2 or 3 inch. Sorry for the two reply's, at work.. lol

Yes! Thank you! Very generous of you. Could you call me late afternoon some day at 319-436-7277. I have some equipment you may want, or tell me how much to send you to your address.

Bill sent me the parts right away and said, due to the cost of shipping was so low, that no payment is necessary. I sent him some anyway. There are a few like Bill still around.. Thank you, Sir!
