Sold by the pound these were..........

Got one - output on one side was heating up & diving into the
protecion pool,
removed both amp cct's - measured every transistor from arse to
breakfast - both channels identical.
Re-installed them, no more heat but the weaker channel plays with
intermittent staticy ocean-like noise. Two trim-pots on each channel -
contact cleaned - adjusted for volume - helps some - still
intermittent static.
Good channel - toshiba outputs
Bad channel - sanyo outputs not sure which channel was changed - I
believe the latter.
Leaky tranistors?
What are the pots?
Service Manual available anywhere?
Tapping the cct boards does not fault the problem so I've ruled out
solder joint trubbles.
