reading a metal film resistor value

Hi!

In fact, I know the method of reading but for this one, the stripes are close to each other equally.

How can I identify the tolorence or the first stripe?

I see it as colour, colour, black, black, colour.

If the colour is brown it's 110 ohms. if it's red that makes it 220 ohms.

Even though I think it looks more red than brown, I'll go for brown because 1% resistors are more common than 2% resistors. (also because 220 is not a valid E48 (2%) value -- which is not to say you won't find it)

Read the other way, 1k would be reasonable.

The band I have placed to the right appears thinner, so I am calling that the tolerance band.

Yep, this is one I'd measure with my multimeter

edit: looking at it again. brown, brown, black, black, red is also a possibility
