Radio transmission and one-wire, I2C, three wire and four wire protocols resource

Could a resource be created with information on radio transmission of data protocols and protocols concerning one-wire, two wire (I2C), three wire and four wire protocols buy a member specialised in any of these areas. I think it would be useful for many circuits containing complex interfaces between devices and would show people how these protocols work.

I've moved this thread from Circuit Help to Announcements, Site Problems and Feedback.

I'm not sure about this idea, but if anyone wants to go with it, I can do the section on the Dallas one-wire protocol. And SPI as well, if no one else wants to do that.

I'm not sure what you mean by three-wire and four-wire protocols. Do you mean variants on SPI? And what about asynchronous and synchronous serial protocols, and parallel bus protocols? Sarting a document on "protocols" could open a big can of worms!

OK, well I think protocols for one-wire and I2C are the main ones. I did mean variants on SPI, but I am unsure how they differ, I know pretty much nothing about this area. As for synchronous and asynchronous I really do not know.

Do you think there's a need for another document on those protocols? If you write up the sections for I2C and SPI, I'll write up the one-wire document.

I think there is a need for a document on these that explains them thoroughly and in a way a beginner would understand. Are you asking me to write up the sections for I2C and SPI? I know little about these areas.

Thanks

Oh. Well, I don't have much experience with I2C. But I2C and SPI are both pretty well documented, and the Dallas/Maxim documentation on one-wire is also pretty clear I think.

I could write an application-oriented document on SPI and one-wire, but I don't consider it a priority. If someone else gets the ball rolling, I'll contribute.
