Questions corrosion

In an electronic device when oxidation corrosion has started what are the tips for it to progress as slow as possible?

Keep cleaning it..Or remove it.
Oxidation only occurs when metals have been exposed to liquid or chemical.
Humidity would be classed as liquid.
In metal IE vehicles, the oxidation (rust) keeps eating away. it needs to be cut away to good, sound material.

Depends on the device and the environmental cause. In general you should not be using a device not fit for that environment to the point where excessive corrosion occurs, OR simply plan on a periodic replacement.

There are some design choices such as use gold plating, seal all wire connections, use a conformal coating. Use a weatherproof housing, temperature and humidity control the area, MOST IMPORTANTLY, construct a pyramid shaped impenetrable barrier out of silica gel, with an outer skin of unobtanium, housing an internal HVAC system.

A better question is why do you have OCD about things lasting *forever*? Normally, electronic equipment failure is not due to corrosion, providing it is used in its intended environment.

Seems like you were already recommended to use an air conditioner in general, to solve many problems including your own comfort.

^ Great, now unplug it so you aren't wasting 72W heating the area, and get an air conditioner. :p

Since it's winter in Brazil, I suppose an argument could be made for using more powerful peltiers to both heat and remove more humidity (if electric heat is cheaper than gas or another fuel based heat), but you will still need the A/C for summer.

If you are looking to increase your money by posting, try youtube videos.

If you are looking to increase your space, delete the videos off your HDD after uploaded to youtube. :D

These videos could even be video examples of massive corrosion, mountains of silica gel, and an ingenious perpetual motion machine to power peltiers.

You could do a video about how many 72W peltiers it takes to equal the dehumidification of a single window A/C unit.

Which is more efficient against moisture and corrosion? silica gel or Calcium Chloride or Peltier 72W dehumidifier?

I would worry about your electric bill more than corrosion in 80s equipment. Box it all up and use silica packs.
Or handle it all using surgical gloves, in a clean room of course. Or don't worry about it and enjoy your 80s museum.
I think that you are really packing a tomb and want to make sure it is not oxidised for another two millennia! Am I right?
