Powering car 5000w 500rms amplier and with xbox 360 psu

Hey..im thinking of connecting 2 xbox 360 17amp psu to power 5000w 500rms car amplifier to drive subwoofers. The psu pushes 17am so to join them in parallel will give 35 amperage? Will this work or is there a other alternative to get maxed out power from my car amp..pc psu? Would like to drive subs in my house. Would prefer doing on a cheap way as possible lol. Thanx any assistance would be appreciated

Generally speaking, you can wire them in parallel as long as they are the same specs.
Can you give a link to the amp?.
I don’t think it would draw 400A peak somehow.
Or above 40A with the specs you gave.
Out of curiosity, what fuse does the amp have?.

Too little info. What is the voltage of the xbox 360 PSU? What is the acceptable input voltage range of the amp?

I don't think you need "maxed" output unless you're just trying to damage the amp or speakers, rather it just needs to be loud enough to match the rest of the sound system.

What's the voltage of the xbox 360 psu? There are plenty of 12V power supplies readily available for running car electronics at home.

Is there a reason you're using a car amp to drive subwoofers in your house? There are AC powered amps for this purpose that work quite well. Also, if it's a car subwoofer, it's designed to function well in a small space (a car), it won't sound as good or produce as much bass in a large room/house.

Unless you're planning to crumble the walls and foundation and destroy your hearing, you won't be using anywhere near 500 watts RMS constantly. Most of the time the power output is a lot lower, with peaks during kick drum hits etc. I'm guessing that amp's rated output is exaggerated some. What are the specs of the amp in terms of power draw/fuse size?
