PIR help/info

I was wondering if there is an already assembled PIR device I can hook into an outdoor solar LED flood light. The floodlight comes on at night and I would like it to only turn on when it detects movement. I've seen these PIR detectors in the stores for sale and wondered if it would be possible to wire one in series with the LED or do they required their own power source.

The PIR devices require their own power supply but usually have a set of 'volts-free' contacts that you can use to switch any external appliance.
