Pioneer SR60 Reverb not working properly

Hey guys, this unit was shelved for at least 10 years. Connected it yesterday and the sound and volume level would go in and out intermittently. I plan open it up tomorrow and use a compressor to blow it out then can spray Deoxit on some of the parts but can anyone advise me on exactly which parts of it should be sprayed please?

This is a screenshot of the block Diagram:

or should I first take the cover off and post a pic here?

I own one of these.
Spray-out the potentiometer while exercising it.
As Martaine2005 advised, the selector switch contacts are probably the problem with your unit.

Ok guys, please let me start with this, the pic of the front:

Then you have the jacks at the back with this being the inside:

Sorry for the link, this pic would not upload here. So from the 1st pic, every button and the 2 dials on the right, the insides of them all should be blown then sprayed with the deoxit?

The 2nd pic showing the inside of the jacks, should I do the same and if yes, where exactly should be sprayed with the deoxit please?

You've got an SR-9, not an SR-60.
Your problem is most likely going to be the push-button contacts.
I don't know how accessible they'll be from inside the chassis, but those pushbuttons are the ones that need to be sprayed-out with contact cleaner. Spray the insides of the switch from inside the chassis, it's useless to try to do it from outside the front of the unit.
Spray the electrical contact cleaner while exercising the switches to clean the actual electrical contacts inside the switch.
A lot of people rave about this deoxit stuff, but I've never used it. Good luck with that.
I rarely see a problem with the RCA jacks themselves being dirty, but if you think they might be, I usually just spray the contact cleaner on a Q-tip cotton swab and clean the RCA jack that way.
The potentiometers are probably going to be sealed, but if they're not, it wouldn't hurt to spray the insides with contact cleaner while exercising the knobs.
Not having your unit in front of me, I'm speculating that the push-button switches are your problem.
If cleaning them does not clear the problem, somebody here will offer you additional help in troubleshooting.
Good luck.

Oh geez, sorry about the model number, I think the power button too might have something to do with it so can I spray the back of the power button to please?

Also, how long after spraying would I need to wait before powering on again?

Hey guys, I did as suggested but still same issues with the reverb signal working intermittently. I can see the tunnel display cutting off and on. Also, looks like once I have it connected to my receiver it's doing the same with my bass.

I don't think it would be wise for me to pay a tech to repair as it will be a lot cheaper to buy a good work used one?

That's a shame, there are some other fairly simple checks you can do.
Can you post a photo of the PCB? or a couple?.
What we'll be looking for is possible leakage or bulged electrolytic capacitors.
Your description of it 'copying' the bass or 'coming in and out' is very common.

Excellent.
Now if possible, close photos of those black can type thingys...Side on would be ideal.
Example like this:

I appreciate the help but I won;t be able to do any circuit board soldering or desoldering myself as I have severe arthritic hands and fingers so should I still take the pics? I don't want to waste anyone's time here.

You certainly are not wasting anybody's time here.
If we can see obvious faulty components, you may be able to ask a friend or direct a tech to only replace what you tell him.
But knowing is better than not knowing IMHO.

Sorry, I was mistaken. Perhaps the light made some look grey.
Well, unfortunately nothing obvious stands out. The only real test now would be an Equivalent series resistance test of those capacitors.
One other thing you can check yourself is turning the PCB over and using a magnifier, check all the solder connections for hair line cracks or obvious bad/dry solder joints.
But without you being able to solder, we can't really check anything else.
