Pinout JDS Uniphase Laser Power Supply

H

Hansjörg Oesch

Hello

I have troubles with a JDS Uniphase Power Supply 2111-65MLQYV.

It turns on only from time to time. The start signal comes from an
electronic board to the 25pin D-Sub connector. Unfortunately I haven't any
information about the pinout of the 25pin D-Sub on the power supply. So I'm
not able to identify on witch side the failure is happen.

Is there some body how have information about this power supply?

Thanks

Hansjörg

Don't apologise for your English, it's far better than many native English
speakers' that I've read!
The connections you need to make are:
Pin 1 to pin 3 (interlock)
Pin 13 to pin 2 (laser on)
Current control signal to pin 6; put a 1K potentiometer between pin 11 (0V)
and pin 13 (15V internal supply) with the wiper to pin 6 OR use an external
0 to 15V supply to pin 6 grounded to pin 11.
Light control signal to pin 7; put a 1K potentiometer between pin 11 (0V)
and pin 13 (15V internal supply) with the wiper to pin 7 OR use an external
0 to 15V supply to pin 7 grounded to pin 11.
To select current control mode, put a link between pin 22 and 5; leave the
link out for power (light) control mode.
Pins 10,11,14,20,21,22 & 24 are all connected to 0V
Pin 8 is the power monitor pin, the scaling depends on the exact version of
laser head you have connected.
Pin 9 is the current monitor pin, scaling is 0.1V / Amp.
Hope that helps.
By the way, you may want to visit the alt.lasers group as you may find lots
of useful information on there.

But if it doesn't start all the time, could be something else wrong.

Hi Martin,

Many thanks for your help and the encouraged words. I'm now able to monitor
the signal from the electronic and also test the power supply stand alone.

By the way: the Laser head is a 2211-65MLQYV

Many Thanks

Hansjörg
