Philips LCD projector proscreen 4600 image problem

M

Max

I found this LCD projector, philips proscreen 4600.
Testing it I found that on the image all the red areas are surrounded by
extra-pixels orizontally,more on left side (something like | | |
||||| )
Any advice for me (i.e. where to find troubleshooting info's, manuals,
or -if I'm lucky- component to check)?

Thanks

Most likely, the panel is not being addressed properly. This can be the
harness into the panel, or the driver matrix board, or the panel itself. You
will have to purchase the service manual from Philips. You will also need
the proper tools and test gear to work on this. I would suggest you get an
estimate from Philips. I have my doubts you will be able to service this
yourself, unless you are very lucky.

Thanks Jerry,
I agree I have to be lucky!
I hope here in the news some one who passed the same problem (or a similar
one) will give me a good advice. I appreciate your answers anyway, thanks
once more.

I think the projector has been already serviced once, because of some "non
original" components on the drivere board and maybe for the same problem,
because if I put my finger over one of them (so making a sort of "ground")
the problem decrease!
If I disconnect the "red" lcd and then reconnect it (while the unit is on)
the problem disappear and comes back (and stays) if I touch with my finger
(same as above) in the driver area.

Challenging, isn't it?

Regards

Massimo
