Hey Brian, maybe you might consider sticking a broom up your arse and
then you would sweep the floor when running around like a headless
chook ?.

nah , its sparkling repartee compared to the crap you push.

Or attempt to bullshit your way out of your predicament.

You'd be amazed at how many read my posts just
for a bit of light relief, watching some pathetic excuse
for a bullshit artist get done like a fucking dinner |-)
That may be so but the sort of language used here by them
isn't the sort of language one should use in the public domain.

You get no say what so ever on that or anything else at all. Ever.
It's only common decency which obviously these guys lack.

Plenty dont care for the pompous shit you spew.

I have no formal training in any form of electronics and have never calimed
to, in fact a few months ago I actually stated that electronics is nothing
more than a hobby of mine. My technical background is in computer
technology, not electronics.

I'm wondering what part of computer technology is not related to
electronics?

There is a huge difference, I do not work at the component level of computer
hardware.

These days the term "computer technician" is a misnomer. Even in my
minicomputer days, most of the "repairs" were performed by board
jockeys who could have been pumping petrol only weeks before. Just for
a laugh, search the Google Usenet archives for a PC "technician" who
thinks that capistors (sic) are specified in units of "microferrets".

I think you are missing the point, most computer hardware has for a long
time been considered non repairable. When you weigh up the cost of
repairing a board vs. replacing it, repairing just isn't viable most of the
time.

FWIW I didn't say that I was a computer technician, I said my technical
background was in computer technology, I am a network engineer.

I think you are missing the point too. Sure things are uneconomical to
repair these days, but part of being an Engineer is knowing the
fundamentals.

Hmm Thats funny I am a Wide Area Network engineer and I find it difficult to
understand how anyone could do my job without an Understanding of
Electronics. Unless of course all you do is install Software on PCs all day
(hardly an engineering task)

Well as someone who is not ashamed of what I post I am now only going to
hold you in greater contempt than before especially when phil posted this
pretty well as a direct response to you posting what could be considered
offensive remarks directed at him.
In fact I should point out that Actually Posting someones home phone number
is far far worse than someone posting your Christian Name and the suburb he
lives in.

Phil could have posted a lot more detail as in less than 5 Minutes on the
Internet I have your full Name, Your street address, your home phone Number
and the name of your employer (not being a creep like yourself I will not
post them here).

did you enjoy growing up where the streets look Silver ?

Regards
Richard Freeman (its my Name, This is my post and I stand behind it)

network engineer, eh?? wow!! impressive ...

so what kinda engineering r u talking about?? cable pulling? crimping
connectors? :) cutting holes in walls?? ok ok ok .. just pulling ur leg :)

mate .. u gotta understand that using big high faluting labels to describe
urself is a very dangerous thing to do in a NG like this ... some of the
folks here are not as easily impressed as i m ...so u gotta expect some
flak if u continue to big-note urself ...

i mean.. it is well and good to understand what a routing table does and on
the basis of that... call urself a network engineer .. but u do realise
that some of the guys here not only understand routing tables .. they also
understand the electronics which go into making the circuitry which store
the routing table .... and if they r so inclined .. they could probably
make u a complete router?? in my mind .. such folk are more worthy of the
title "network engineer"

aaarrrr... don't worry about me mate .. u'll have to find ur own way thru
this life :)

I think that I have a fair understanding of the fundamentals but I have no
need to know anything in depth about electronics.
(Except for any Microsoft "engineer" certificate that is)

Yep, I agree.
