yes the picture is so bad quality that you cannot see the marking
but I think it is written on it "850029" but cannot guess what is this
IC.

The point is, that if we could see what else is AROUND and connected to
the IC we might be able to take a stab at what it is.

How about just taking a better picture?

Even just revealing what the equipment is might help.

Can't help you with this part. I use your HP Cross-Reference a lot, thanks for putting it on the web for easy access. Sounds like you try to cross other parts too. I've got a whole lot of parts that I can't ID, it's become kind of a hobby with me. Any possibility we could communicate? Maybe I'd know some of your parts, and you might know some of mine. This one looks like a proprietary number to me.
