Oscilloscope question about sine wave.

I am working on a motor drive circuit that has adjustment for the negative voltage of the sine wave that drives a motor. The purpose of the adjustment is to be able to equalize the positive and negative voltages of the sine wave to get the sine wave as perfect as possible to optimize motor speed microstability. My issue is that using an analog oscilloscope is just not accurate enough. Ideally I need a digital oscilloscope that can calculate the "energy under the curve" for each of the positive and negative sides of the sine wave. Would a digital oscilloscope have such a measurement? Thanks

Comparing the waveform on a DC coupled vs AC coupled display should give you the information you require. Any vertical shift of the display indicates that it is not symmetrical around zero volts.
