Optoma 17" LCD Monitor

I've got one of these and it just stopped working suddenly. Tried another
monitor on the port and it works fine. You can see a slight brightness
change when you toggle the power button on and off? Anyone know of a simple
fix or is it new monitor time?

LCD monitors are rather complex to repair.
If it's on warranty try one of the authorized service centers.

Usually repairs on LCD monitors are done at the board level.

Put a flashlight up to the screen, if you can see either the menu
settings or any thing on the display the power supply probably went
for the back lighting common problem for LCD's
I don't suggest you repair yourself unless your capable with
electronic repair

I was thinking it was probably a back lighting problem because of the
suddenness of the failure.. I've been in electronic repair for over 35
years, so I'm not afraid of tearing into it. Major problem is I have no free
time. Never tore into an LCD monitor. Any idea where to get parts?

Not really.... But out of 5 lcd monitors (various makes) only one did
I have to replace parts other than just the fuses!

I tore it apart. Real easy. Determined problem was DC to AC converter module
that
powers the flourescent backlighting system.
Anyone have any idea where to buy one of them? All the sources on the
internet seem
to be overseas and you can't buy just one.

Check fuses and any transistors and diodes, you might get away with
just replaceing the fuse, fuses !! They will be chip fuses surface
mount you could replace with pica fuses.
