Online electronics components retailers

Hello,

I'm trying to get started with some projects and need a reliable source
for components.

I've done some looking around the web and came across Jameco,
Tycoelectronics, and Digi-Key.
What do you guys think of their catalogs /services? Do they just work
like a regular online store? Or is there some sort of registration that
I need to go through?

Thanks for your time.

And in the UK, RS Components for general electromechanics. Farnell for
electronics, including serviving disposable stuff, with well-organised
parts search on web site. And CPC in Preston, Lancashire, if you're looking
for specialised parts for commercial stuff.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll probably be back to badger this group with questions about all the
components I order :D
