I picked up an Olympus Camedia D450 at a garage sale. The obvious problem
is that the metal tang for one of the batteries is broken.
Using a battery adapter and/or jumping the broken tang and adding batteries
gives me sporadic results. I often get beeps and a flashing green light by
the eyepiece. Occasionally, the lens will extend and the screen will come
on and all seems to work fine. But then everything just stops.
I don't have a media card in the camera and will buy one if the camera is
salvagable.
Could the erratic operation be due to the lack of the media card? Shouldn't
the ac adapter always power up the unit regardless of the media card?
Thanks for any comments.
