I'm trying power supplies with my home made tube guitar pedal and guitar cube. I've made a simple one voltage regulator with L7809CV IC and connected it to pedal, no hum from amplifier. When I connect this with variable regulator LM338 I can clearly hear hum, 100 Hz I think as shown is the cope. By the way, with L7809Cv there are ripples too. Same as in LM338 output, but no additional noise heard. Can'tget the idea where it comes from. Scope shows almost the same signal on the same load.
