newbie here. need help with TTP223

hi all,

I am trying to build a very simple circuit that uses a TTP223 module to control a high power LED such as a CREE XML, XPG, XRE powered by 1 single 3.7 li-ion battery. My understanding is that the output current max out at 8mA which is well below the operating amp of the LED itself. I have read about using transistors or mosfet to increase the current or voltage to achieve this but I can not figure out how to hook it up if both share the same power source. also I have looked at the CN5711 chip which is used as a constant current LED driver but I have no idea how to trigger it to get it to turn on and off with the TTP223. any help is appreciated. Thank you!.

Have you had a look at our resource?
The TTP223 can drive a transisto (bipolar or, preferably, MOSFET) which in turn drives the LED. This is the "cheap" solution.
Of course you could use an LED driver IC, but the CN5711 is not meant to be controlled by an external on/off signal. You might want to use an off the shelf module like e.g. this one. It is meant to be PWM controlled but should work with a steady on/off signal, too.
