Newbie help please

My weller soldering iron has burnt out I am unable to identify the part I need to replace. I wonder if anyone could help me with identification from the pics

Is this a clear molded piece that at one end looks to have either a resistor or inductor? If it is, I'm also wondering what these are, I acquired a few of them in a large box of electronics recently and haven't had a chance to look up what they are.

looks much like a polyester/mylar type capacitor to me
as to the value, a little hard to tell from the blurry pic and damage

I see what looks like 600V and some text that may contain the answer to your question that is too far out of focus to read.

Definitely a capacitor, and probably mains rated.

If you had told us where it was connected that would have helped us too.
 
Thanks for the help - Yes i am afraid its burnt out and obscured the information. Essentially it sat between the mains lead (live) into the soldering iron and the iron tip itself
