Hi, I need to install a new floor joist in my basement and have lots of obstructions like pipes and wires that will have to be cut before the joist can be installed. The wiring that will have to be cut and spliced includes wiring for a 25-year old home security system (Ademco, Vector 3000 Model 4153).
See a photo of some of the wires attached. Two of the wires look like speaker wire. None of them have any identifying markings that I can find.
I am wondering if someone could identify the type of wire just from the photo and recommend the best way to splice it. If I am in the wrong forum for this kind of advice, please let me know.
Thanks much.
Dave
