I have a schematic for the Switchboard that controls the e-motor on the U-Boat. I believe the e-motors are cumulative compound shunt motors and I'm having an issue understanding the rotary switch device which looks to be a wire wound rheostat. You would think it would be simple. However, when I look at the circuit, it looks like I am increasing the resistance in the shunt control circuit instead of decreasing the resistance in order to get the e-motor to run faster... It has me stumped! I have attached the circuit diagram... It's not the greatest copy, but its the best I could come by....
