Need help to identify this device

Hello everyone,
I am trying to repair an old soldering station Solder Aid SA-3-115 from OK Industries, and need to replace what I think it is a power transistor as shown in the pictures. I have not found any circuit diagram or support from the manufacturer. The plastic cover is broken and only shows G8922 as you can see in the attached pictures.



I think the letter before G is A.

I appreciate very much any help to identify the device.

More than likely, an SCR or TRIAC. Perhaps from Teccor, and about 30 years old.

Trace out the circuit for us and we can tell you what you need to use to replace it.

BTW, it's better to leave the plating in the plated-through holes in the PCB!

The case style is TO-202.
The visible (2nd ) line may be the date code 1988 week-22,makes sense?
Do you have the missing piece?

Could you please post clear photos of the board(both sides),
so we can see the other devices near that blown one?

Agree withe @TedA, you shouldn't yank out the hole's platting with the device!

Hello,
Yes, it is a TRIAC as it is written on the board. The small capacitors (ceramic green) is labeled .047 j 50UL, which I do not recognized. The electrolytic capacitors ( light blue) are 50 microf. The TRIAC is placed in the center of the heat sink. Let me know if the pictures help.

It helps some.
Trace the 3 pins of the TRIAC and try drawing the schematic around it.
Especially pin G(see red on pic).
At what voltage is this board operated on?
