need help to find alternative IC

i have this IC for my car phone charger "XL 1509"
which i can't find a replacement part for it
so i wonder if anything can be as alternative for it

i don't think suck website can deliver to my country and if it does it would be high cost

how about if i use 7805 voltage regulator for the car phone charger
i'll get 5V output but what about the current

You will get up to 1A if you have a proper heatsink.

cool so instead of that xl1509 i'll use 7805 voltage regulator with heatsink and two capacitors

how hot do you think it will get if i use it as car charger?
would it melt the plastic case of the original charger if i put it inside?
what about NCP 1117 which would be better for such a use?
will it be better to use premade switching voltage regulator module like LM2576?
