Need a compact, elegant design idea

K

Ken

Hello All,

I am trying to come up with a compact design to select some switch
combinations. I could use jumpers, but that would suck for on-the-fly
configuration changes.
I decided I could always obtain a couple of multideck selector switches
(Mouser 10WR064) if nothing else, but this would take up too much space in
my limited enclosure.
The settings need to be stable and unchanged with power cycling...such that
a hard contact would provide. Here's a truth table of the settings and
positions:
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Ken

(hope this doesn't get too mangled with proportional text)

Selector 1 Position 1 connects a-c b-d

Position 2 connects c-d

Position 3 connects a-f c-d b-e

Selector 2 Position 1 connects 1-h 2-j

Position 2 connects 2-j

Position 3 connects 1-g 2-j

Position 4 connects 1-h

I think you want two miniature "Rotary Switches".

Isn't it just an 8-pole normally-open 16-pin DIL switch?

2nd go at it, after receiving an email.

Ok, (for each of the two 'switches') mount on the m'board a
right-angle pc-mount male header.

Have a little square daughter-board, with a matching r-angle
pc-mount socket on each edge. Each socket makes the req'd
individual link-patterns. Silk screen the position numbers
alongside each socket. Plug-in as req'd to make the connections.

The Molex KK-series provides pc-mount headers and sockets in
a 0.1" pitch, but only as single row. If you could find a
a double row pc-mount header/socket it would be better and
smaller.
